Harish Salve led the team of lawyers who represented India in International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Kulbhushan Jadhav’s death penalty by Pakistan, has charged Re 1/- for his services.
Somewhere during the proceedings, a certain user tweeted –
To which the MEA Sushma Swaraj responded -
The user probably considered India’s case ironclad and hence felt, if everyone was to read from papers, India could have sent anyone thereby saving some money. Internet is a charged place - armchair critics are abounded. If one was to go through the posts, it would appear that there is ‘resentment’ against the current government and it’s doubtful if they would make another term. However, the percentage of these users actually making it to the polls remains debatable.
India is a strange mix of people. On one hand we have super-charged jingoists who feel that the world will now cower in fear if India so much as raises it brows. On the other hand we have apathetic nihilists who feel that no matter what India manages with only 10% of the allotted budget as the rest goes to warm the coffers of people involved.
