Politics makes people do unexpected things. Addressing party functionaries in Chennai, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said that he is reading Gita and Upanishads to take on RSS and BJP. So after the UPA government gave an affidavit in court that there was no evidence of Ram setu (bridge) being a human made structure and could not be proved to be integral to Hinduism, Rahul Gandhi is now reading the Hindu holy books to take on political rivals. So is that it Mr. Gandhi? Is Politics the only reason you have started reading Gita? And had this been not for the BJP and RSS you would have never cared to read it at all? However, a majority of people believe that instead of reading Gita and Upanishads, he first needs to read school text books so as to start making sense what he speaks.
This also shows how shallow the Congress ideology is and it is once again proved that Congress and its leaders look at things only if it is politically motivated otherwise they don’t care about it. Someone needs to explain Rahul Gandhi that reading books gives you knowledge but you need common sense too!!! His aalu ki factory (Potato’s factory) remark is still a good measure of his ignorance of text books.
Good that he has started reading the holy books and may be now he can start writing his speeches himself and not goof up like he did in Telangana where he questioned dynasty politics against a background of cutouts of his entire family. Every time he opens his mouth he ends up embarrassing himself and his party. Maybe Krishna's golden words would knock some sense into him.
