Yogi AdityaNath, has proved it once again why he is known for his simple lifestyle. According to recent reports, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rejected a proposal from the Estate Department to purchase two high-end Mercedes cars for his fleet. These cars if purchased, would have burdened taxpayer of Rs 3.5 crore. But thanks to Mr Adityanath he rejected this proposal then and there. A senior official said, “When this proposal was brought to the notice of the CM, he rejected it point blank, saying that there was no need for new SUVs for his fleet as the present ones were okay,”.
The cars in the CM’s present fleet were purchased by the previous Akhilesh Yadav Government five years back costing RS 1.5 crore each and the official said that the Chief Minister has informed that there is no need for a new SUV in his fleet as the vehicles which are presently present are fine.
This is not the first time that Yogi has rejected this kind of proposal. Earlier, the CM had rejected Estate Department’s proposal to purchase the high-end car worth Rs 30 lakhs each for his ministers.
If these kinds of decisions are taken more often by putting personal enmity aside then it will help in restoring already dwindling faith of people in government and our country will be able to progress at much faster rate than its progressing now.
